National security minister Errol Cort will deliver the feature address at a four-day workshop on cyber security and crime that begins here on Monday. The workshop is being organised by the United States Embassy in conjunction with Organisation of American States (OAS) and the Secretariat of the Inter-American Committee Against Terrorism (CICTE).

It forms part of the on-going collaboration between the US Diplomatic Security Anti-Terrorism Assistance Programme and regional security forces, and regional governments. The organisers said that this workshop hopes to strengthen cyber security and cyber crime issues in accordance with the Caricom regional cyber security strategy and the OAS Inter-American cyber security strategy.

The workshop will focus on cyber security incident management and investigation and will also look at the investigation and prosecution of cyber crimes with an overarching focus on strengthening national and regional coordination. The organisers said that it will also engage participants in a training programme tailored to combat cyber crime and support regional cyber crime prosecution. The four-day workshop will be attended by as many as 90 delegates from throughout the region.
