Social Media Job Hunt: Secrets and Opportunities

The internet is growing all the time, and also the opportunities it brings are also becoming broader. The biggest growth is with social media websites, with the likes of Facebook and Twitter gaining millions of users each year. This brings more vacancies for people who have social-media expertise, as companies look for ways to get in on the action.

Sarah Lundy from Post Bullentin is reporting that there has been a massive increase in job opportunities across the country. Major companies like Dell have shown the way in utilizing social media, it recently said it generated $3 million in sales from links from various Twitter accounts.

According to Augie Ray a Forrester Research analyst “This has been the year where every organization has come to realize the importance of social media”. He feels that with social media marketing companies no longer have to spend months working on a project before launching it.

But the work begins after it has been launched dealing with how people react to the campaign and respond to comments. This needs people who are capable of creating an overall strategy or having someone who can respond and monitor public comments on sites such as Facebook.

Dan Schawbel from Mashable has written an article a while back looking at ways for people to use social media when looking for their next job. First after you have identified five companies you would like to work for use sites like Facebook to look through the corporate pages and groups.
