UTV Software Communications board approved an investment of $ 75 million in the company's gaming business.UTV plans to acquire 51 percent stake in a mobile content aggregator based in the US through mobile gamer Indiagames, in which it owns 60 percent. The company shall fund this acquisition by subscribing fresh shares of Indiagames Ltd.
UTV also plans to invest into a start-up venture in the US, which caters to the online gaming segment and increase its stake in console gamer, Ignition Entertainment, to around 95 percent from 70 percent.
UTV also said it will invest into the working capital of Ignition for its three console games being developed at its facilities in London Florida and Tokyo.
It is understood that $ 30 million is invested into the start-up and the mobile aggregator, while $ 45 million will be used to develop the three console games.
